Does the iPhone 14 have an eSim?

This is the first iPhone generation sold in the United States without a SIM tray.

Sold in mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macao
iPhones sold in mainland China do not include an eSim. Some models sold in Hong Kong and Macao do not either. Dial *#06#. If there is no EID, that phone cannot install one.
Sold in the United States
Units of these models sold in the United States have no physical SIM tray. The eSim is the only line. The same model sold in other countries usually has a SIM tray as well.
Check in 10 seconds
Open the phone app and dial *#06#. If you see a number labelled EID, the phone supports eSim.
Is it unlocked?
Phones bought from a carrier on a contract are often locked. Ask the carrier to unlock it, or check Settings for a carrier lock or SIM lock entry.
